Is it ok to order food if a man asks me out for drinks?

Order food like an appetizer or small plate if I get hungry. Drinking makes me hungry so I don’t want to just drink without eating because I won’t enjoy the date.

I'm not hurting for money but you're probably not going to know the extent to which that is the case until we're discussing the types of rings you like. If this is a first date and you order lobster thermidor when I said "want to grab a drink after work" then you risk coming off as a gold digger if you aren't the one paying for your food. It's okay to order whatever you want, but if you take the initiative to show you're not just here for free food you'll have a much nicer second date.

Snacking is never something to just accept , its not the drinking that makes you hungry its hydration , take plenty of water with the drink ( especially if its wine ) , these crappy style snacks are not food , they are just made to increase addiction , keep the hydration , and then eat a proper meal , void of nasties , and nothing processed.

You will not have an issue and you will be healthy.

If he's paying respect that and don't order something expensive. If he's going for 3 courses then it's OK for you to follow.

If he's only asked you out for drinks and your getting a snack for yourself then it's polite to offer to get him one or at least let him pinch a little of yours. Some pubs do sharing platters which are good for dates.

I mean, just ask him. You know? Just don't expect him to pay for it, honestly.
And depending on what kind of person you are, I'd say - let him go after the date, if he doesn't match your energy.
If he agrees, you order the food without wondering.

I'd say that is a good and mature signal, that you stay on top of your needs.
So many times the hunger comes on and then the energy dips, mood can ruin the night. Not to mention getting too drunk on an empty stomach.

But just to be safe, ask him, barsnacks usually aren't that expensive. Share some with him.

You can ask if he’s like to SHARE something that will balance out your drinking, but don’t go crazy and order a ton of stuff and NEVER order the most expensive thing on the menu, esp if you’re expecting HIM to pick up the tab. It’s just rude.

I would first say eat something small before going on the drink date, so you have at least some food in your system. Then ask him after you meet and things seem to going well if he would like to share an appetizer with you.
