How do you know if you like a guy or if you're talking to him because you're enjoying the attention?

A new friend of mine has come forward and shared that he has feelings for me. We are getting to know each other, and I seem to like him but it is taking me some time to open up. I would hate to lead this person on because that is definitely the wrong thing to do. So how do I tell if I'm genuinely interested and just slow in the process?

Just be honest with him. Take it slow there is no need to rush into a relationship. So Talk to him and tell him how you feel, tell him you enjoy his company and that you are not sure if you are ready for a relationship. You are willing to see how things go and if feelings develop or something along those lines. If he is for you he will respect that and that way you don't feel pressure to like him if you don't. It takes time to grow feelings for someone so do take your time. My now current boyfriend we hung out for a few months around 6-7 months that I enjoyed his company and hanging out and then realized my feelings were growing because of how he was with me, how his actions made me feel etc so it's okay to take it slow just be honest with him how you feel at the moment
