Hi my boyfriend lives with his parents (don’t judge) and is saving money to buy a house.

sometimes he invites me over- but I am uncomfortable going. His family’s house is anything goes- sex drugs and drinking and has been that way since he was a teenager. He was allowed to bring hookups over etc when he was around 15 and this behavior continues until he was 25. To be honest, I am grossed out by it and grossed out by his parents.

His mother also sat me down and started showing me his exs and telling me how wonderful they were. This was the last time I went over to the house- but he had been begging me to come over and hang out with his mom.

the answer is no- and it’s caused fights. Am I wrong?

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I’m not sure how you can continue on in a relationship with someone who’s so close to their family, and you want no involvement with them. Being with him means loving all of him, including his family, and if you want no parts of them then maybe he’s not the guy for you.

No, you're not wrong. You have every right to have your own set of values. I wonder, though, if your boyfriend agrees with your values, and whether that may make your relationship difficult.

I think this is the gap in my relationship. He doesn’t understand why I don’t want to have sex in the parents house with them there. However when his mom started showing me pics of his ex, he took her phone deleted every photo and was like don’t fucking do that again these people are out of my life.
