Is it true that guys don’t like girls who dress too masculine?

I remember in high school there was these girls that I should change my style because people judge and that’s why people don’t want to sit next to me and that guys don’t like me. They told me to wear more feminine tops and jeans since I would wear men band shirts with leggings and all black. They would tell me to wear more color as well. I would try to change my style and difficult to express myself.

In a nutshell, it’s true for the most part. Having said that though, I’ve known girls who dress kind of “tomboy” and still manage to look feminine. I grew up with rocker chicks and there is plenty of feminine style in that crowd.


You will definitely get more male attention dressing more feminine than you will masculine. Not much is going to change that. Men like female form & features.


You may certainly find a guy who appreciates your style so the advice to be yourself and not change for anyone is sound advice, but you are definitely reducing the overall numbers as a result.


Maybe take a slow step in that direction. Don’t change your style radically overnight. Just consider gradually buying more and more things.

So you are tomboy or goth or both? I guess most guys prefer feminine girls, I don't mind.

I’m more of a metalhead. I guess I kind of dress like tomboy with a little goth style. I’ve wondered whether what they’ve said is true.

For what it's worth I don't think that leggings is masculine, you can find a guy who is okay with your look, maybe someone who is also into metal, alt girls are not mainstream.

Yes it's true! I'm a tomboy and never date a man, only one other girl in high school. I don't like dresses, skirts, make up and heels. I'm into football (Arsenal) and I start eyeing on video games even though I’m not sure I want to start yet. I'm aggressive and I am strong in appearance but with a weak immune system. Men are afraid of me 😅
