How can I make a first move without actually making a first move?

I come from a place where guys hate it when girls make the first move and the guy is the one who should do it. I like a guy and I want to approach him without him knowing that I’m trying to get him. Guys here tend to like girls who are hard to get, and I’m generally hard to get but I feel like it’s getting me nowhere.

- "Accidentally" bump into him in the hall and strike up friendly convo. Laugh and touch his arm when you apologize.

- Ask for his help with homework or something - an excuse to chat. Compliment how smart he seems.

- Follow him on social media (if you don't already) and like/comment on his pics to get his attention.

- At lunch, sit kinda close to where he sits with friends. Give him smiles and waves if you make eye contact.

- See if you share any classes - ask if you can partner/study together for a project.

- Text him a funny meme or question about homework as an opener to start texting.

The key is come across flirty and interested without outright asking him out. Make HIM have to work up the nerve to ask YOU out! Play hard to get but give little compliments and hints you think he's cute. He should get the message! Lmk if any work.
