Sounds insecure lol
- 1 y
@CrabCakes11 Then I can say the same for women who don't like men more feminine than they are.
- 1 y
@Aiko_E_Lara No. it was more just the way he said it. He basically said “I like masculine women, but I have to be the more masculine link of the relationship to feel comfortable”
- 1 y
That's still the same principle with what I said
- 1 y
@WhiteBoyChill so just because I added that I like it if it not too much it's insecure?
- 1 y
Either way, I’m not the closeted gay in this discussion that wants to hide behind “masculine women” to pretend to be straight 🤷♂️
- 1 y
I have known some super hot tomboy girls in my life.

Fair enough. I like in between men and macho men.
- 1 y
I’m somewhere in between. I’ve got girly girl friends and relatives and more tomboy friends.

Some really manly men really enjoy a woman with a strong connection to her masculine elements. Just from personal experience. They are man enough to not feel emasculated by her strength and can enjoy and appreciate it. It's good for the species if women know how to tap into their masculine and build their personal strength because that protects the young of the species when the men are away. This kind of woman is anthropologically speaking a better bet as a partner to get the male's genes successfully into the next generation and beyond.

I don’t do any of those things. She means emotionally being in touch with both your feminine and masculine side is a healthy balance.

1 yOh, my. That depends entirely on how those are defined. If masculine means John Wayne spanking a teenager, not attracted in the slightest. If masculine means strong, calm and collected, hardworking, loyal, resilient and protective, I definitely find that attractive.
There are qualities I particularly notice and appreciate in men like empathy, thoughtfulness, tenderness, authenticity and vulnerability which are considered "feminine", but I don't view men who exhibit those traits as effeminate. I see them as strong and confident in their manhood, with nothing to prove. It's uncommon because guys are conditioned to be "tough", but really that means being defended against vulnerability and locking feelings away in a black box. It doesn't really work to lock away the feelings though; they leak out as anger.
Once, I overheard a father helping his daughter process her feelings of anxiety as they walked into an activity center. She was nervous, and he was calmly and patiently helping her over her fears. It was so precious and powerful.
How strong a man truly is is demonstrated by his ability to help the weak along the way, not crush them.

1 yfighting for yourself, defendinf yourself isn't being a tomboy. one shouls a feminine woman do then if let's say someone is trying to hurt you physically. when i was a kid a boy told me that he will wait for me putside and he did wait outside after class so what should i do then? what is the feminine response? my response was is when i see him and he is in my way i immediately attack and kick his legs then i run off. is that being a tomboy? i had some male enemies when i was on my elementary because our teacher always pick me to be in charge on the quietness and orderliness of the class when she is our. i am doing what i am supposed to be doing. i just tell them to be quiet and write down their name on the list. and so some boys hated me. if i didn't do what i did then i am the one who will get hurt. i'm just a firl standing in front of a boy (notting hill 😂) so i immediately attaxk first.
when i was in high school i was never called a tomboy even when in college. my ex not once mentioned i am masculine. defending yourself isn't masculine it is being human11 Reply- 1 y
I agree with you there. I’m sorry you had such a terrible experience.
Anonymous(36-45)1 yFeminine, but accountable. Feminine, but can do a lot of things on her own. I think with my career, I'd probably be out of town a good amount, so I'd need someone who could pay some bills or call insurance over some gaff without always waiting for me to handle it. I know, good luck finding THAT these days; as most women who could and would tackle that stuff would probably always be fighting for power and dominance in the relationship, and it'd be "I'm a woman, hear me roar... men are worthless." or the common: "I'm a proud boss b*tch!" type thinking. Instead of... "Hey, I can handle this... but I like having men (or "MY MAN") around..." kind of thinking.

I disagree. Not all women are capable of working due to medical issues. Other women may fit your description of independent women.
Opinion Owner1 yOh… yeah… actually, I’m having trouble right now due to medical issues, so I get it. I just mean that if she’s the more independent type, she’ll be fighting to control things (not that I’m dependent on having all the control or power in a relationship). And I didn’t mean I’d see her as weak if she didn’t take care of bills, or she had some sort of medical thing. I have just found those who can handle all that tend to also be the types who either hate men and view men as worthless, and or they always want their say on everything, including often what the guy does. At least that’s been my experience.
- 1 y
Oh yeah that’s okay. I have my issues, too. You’d be surprised 😊
1 yDefinitely MORE masculine, but not so masculine that he’s afraid to show his feminine side every now and then. Showing his vulnerable side, or him displaying true empathy, or shedding a tear or two at the end of a really sad movie is a beautiful thing to see in a man! Also another feminine quality is to listen and empathize when I’m telling him about my bad day, to just listen without trying to fix the issues. Just being there, actively listening without telling me what I should have done, or what I need to do next time that happens is a very feminine quality, that most women value in men.

1 yMy partner preferences are based on their personalities and the compatibility between us, rather than whether they have more masculine or more feminine characteristics. The important thing is to maintain a relationship with mutual respect, love and understanding. Having similar values with my partner, supporting each other and growing together are the most important criteria for me. Therefore, personal characteristics and common interests trump physical and gender norms.

Anonymous(18-24)1 yMasculine.. Im not sure if this is consider as feminine or not, but most guys im with, they are always way oversensitive than me. Hence at the end of the day, im the one who always need to comfort them, help them with this and that. I always wish before to have a guy that at least can let me pampered them abit, but yeah, i get the entire set at the end. Now im the one who need to act tough etc

1 yFeminine but I'll say it's adorable when a female acts masculine from time to time, jokingly or having fun. I. e., does an impersonation of a guy while watching sports, Who's playing? And pops a beer cap off the coffee table and puts her hand in her waist like Al Bundy. All the time, no. Definitely not 24-7. Prefer a woman who acts feminine.
10 Reply4.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. I honestly don’t see many of those “traits” akin to masculine or feminine as attractive. Sense of humor. Beauty obviously…but that’s an amalgam of traits like confidence humor etc.
More to the point: psychology might be right in that we choose mates based more on our childhood experiences or parents than traits the mate might have.
Read an article that females look for their fathers “scent” in mates. Eesh.10 ReplyI love tomboys. I seem to have more in common with them and have better conversations. I also don't like it when women wear make-up so natural beauty is necessary.
10 ReplyFeminine all the way. That doesn't necessarily mean overtly girly or anything like that -- just that she has that softer, more feminine vibe to her.

Not at all, I thought it was an interesting way to put it, but it still doesn't really say it's the sme thing. Almost like there's a possibility that in some people who are beautiful they are also really sexually attractive, so it seems like the same thing, but then maybe some people who are not beautiful are really sexy as hell. Just curious

Not aggressive, argumentative, and tough (masculine).
25 Reply- 1 y
So you’re saying being masculine is worse than feminine
- 1 y
@CrabCakes11 I think that's a bit of a hasty generalization. Generally masculine women tend to have the more "toxic" traits of masculinity. A lot of men find that attractive... I don't.
The question was about what I prefer, I am not looking for any traits of masculinity in a women. - 1 y
That’s a strange double standard. If masculinity is bad in women it should be bad in men too, right? Or are you just a misogynist
- 1 y
@CrabCakes11 you're not understanding what I'm saying. It's not a double standard because men and women are not the same. Where is the double standard? Men do masculine things and that's good, women do feminine things and that's good. When one does the other, it's not good... Very simple.
I am not a misogynist, every girl I've been with I've been a total gentleman to. Always put them first and in the end things have never ended on bad or ugly terms either. I intend to have a wife and children on my single income Catholic household. Is a normal nuclear family with religious values too evil for you? - 1 y
That’s the definition of a double standard. Being a “gentleman” doesn’t make you not a misogynist
