I (28M) have been talking to her (27F) online for 6 months. What should I do?

So I met this girl on hinge during Christmas. I work in the military and I’m on active duty, so I was only back home for a few days. Since we matched, I asked her out but she refused the date since I told her I go back to my base overseas a few days after. She said she would rather wait until I return a year later, which would be November of this year.

We have never met in person but we have talked every day for the past 6 months. We have “fun” online, send reels, memes, etc. I told her I don’t want a LDR and neither does she. She randomly sent me a gift 3 months into talking that was worth at least $300 and she surprised me again recently by sending me a birthday care package with a bunch of gifts, birthday favors and a card. She told me she prays for me also. I’ve never had this happen before with a woman. I’m confused. What do I do?

I am just as confused as you by this woman. Why would someone go out of her way sending gifts valued at $300 but knowing that this LDR is not leading anywhere.

She is up to something but you have to find out what. Given her reaction when you wanted to date her, I am not quite sure what she is trying to achieve.

Talking on the phone or video chatting is one thing but a totally different one from being physically together. People usually hide the most important aspects of their lives on those LDR chats. Nobody will tell the entire truth about themselves knowing that there is a remote chance to ever meet in real life.

So, I would be very cautious in your situation and I don't find it normal that a girl that you barely know would send you such priced gifts. There is definitely something brewing here, but what?

If you were in town, she should have met you in person. It doesn’t mean that she’s got to get intimate with you. I don’t know why she did that.
