Not large at all. There are people that date even 20 years in difference. The older you get, the less the age matters. If you're worried about social norms, then use the "half your age plus 7" rule. You start with the older person in the equation and whatever the result is, is the youngest they can go to be socially acceptable. In your case, 30 / 2 = 15... 15 + 7 = 22. So the youngest he can date while being socially accepted by the majority of society is 22.

not at all, my wife is 13 years older than me. When we met up and started going together everyone told us it wouldn't work due to the age gap. We've been happily married for fifty years. PS my wife was ahead of her time as cougars were as yet unknown in the dating scene back in the mid seventies.

I'd say no. It's pretty normal for people who are 25-30 years. old to date each other. I mean, the guy on here I talk to is almost 30 and I'm almost 25, so yeah, it's not much of a problem with that age gap.

As we get older 5 years is nothing.
If he was 20 and you were 15, the same 5 year age spread, yes that would be a great difference.
You are both consenting adults, so if you are both fine with it, what does it matter.
Would you feel the same if the numbers were reversed?

No, it isn't. My wife and I have the same age gap, and it's really nothing. You'll find the older you get, the less that will matter. If he's the right one for you, go for it! Good luck!

I'm 30 and even when I was 29, I've been open and keen to dating a woman aged 23-24 or even 20.
I'm 30 now and still enjoy the earlier to mid 20s women in my mind healthier, fitter, slimmer :P primed ♀️
