Guy was "sick" the day of our date (but rescheduled). Should I ask how he's doing?

We had a casual date planned over the weekend. My (F25) date (M24) texted me a few hours before, saying he caught something that was going around at work. He went from being super sick to saying it's most likely allergies and wanted to see if he was still up for it. Long story short, I just said let's reschedule and we did.

I have known him for a couple of years now and can honestly say he is very shy and has some social anxiety. I am 100% confident that he wasn't sick, just got nervous. Should I text him and ask how he's feeling anyway?
