Why am I being forced to be single for so long?

I believe that true love is fated or destined. I have been single for over 7 years now! I have barely even dated anyone long term, I briefly dated 2 guys for 1.5 months and that was 4 years ago. I'm in shape, I have hobbies, I look way younger than my age, so don’t throw that in my face. I have let the control go. I live my life, I focus on myself. I've done inner work and have healed. Yet, I barley have any men that I am interested in approach me and ask me out. I'm baffled beyond and heart broken. I don't understand how there is others who are always with someone and never single for long. I refuse to date to try to fill a void, or to date someone I'm not into or just for fun. I want to meet my person and build a life.

1. Who is "forcing" you to be single? Blaming others for your actions and inactions is quite unbecoming, and counterproductive.

2. "I refuse to date. . . just for fun. I want to meet my person and build a life." The purpose of dating is to become familiar with a guy so you can then decide whether he is The One. How would you know that before you dated him?

You need to get to know the guy to find out if you are into him. So go out and have fun with guys doing whatever it is you like, from movies to hiking, and while with him you will learn if you are into him. It is not until you get to know him that you can learn if he is the person you want to build a life with.

you need to change your entire life. new city, maybe new country, new job, go back to school maybe, get rid of everything in your current life and start over completely different with a completely different crowd of people around you

Maybe. I've lived in 3 cities ans 2 states and started over a few times in the last 5 years! A new country yes, sign me up.

Because you think true love just happens to you. You have to seek it out and work hard at it. Real life isn't a disney movie.
