Ultimatum or nah?

My boyfriend is well aware that I’m frustrated he hasn’t proposed after dating more than three years. At first he seemed overwhelmed by the topic but now it seems like he knows or is planning something, but I’m sick of the games. I need to end it if he doesn’t propose this year. Should I keep that date to myself? Is there a better way to go about this? Thank You!

I think it might be a bit large of a commitment at the moment. Maybe if you two discussed how things might change then it might be easier? Also, surely you could propose?
