For the same reason so many women go on dating apps just for validation. Because they can! There is no consequence for it. a lot of guys learn what women on dating apps are about, learn the vast majority are just playing games and then he starts playing the same games back.

I used to use that app many years ago when it started out. Actually went on a few dates from there. Have not looked at it in ages. I probably still have an account there but I doubt you can still sign in with that. I'm sure they have changed it by now
