Generally, happier.

Women only used to marry because it was required to have assets or property.

Now, women have the right to vote, own property and money, and work.

Women can be independently happy.

They'll be happier in a relationship with another independently happy person, probably. Double income helps.

You're either happy or you're not. A wedding ceremony doesn't change anything. Some people can be happy alone, some cannot. But a couple people who've been in a relationship for years are either happy or not, and an expensive ceremony for an outdated concept doesn't change it. If it's a happy relationship, it will be one and if it's unhappy, saying "I do" doesn't fix all the problems. The question is highly flawed.
