Is it valid to break up over this?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 months, and I’ve been having a hard time staying with him. Although he tells me he loves me, he does nothing to show it. He has told me he isn’t good at expressing it like I am however it is a draining feeling. He tells me he loves me but I don’t feel loved. Yes I have brought this up to him before and he usually says how he just hasn’t been in a relationship where he’s been in love before so it’s new to him. And I get it, however we will talk about what he can do differently, because he says he will do better for us, then he will do it for a day then stop. So he tells me he loves me, but does no actions to prove it. I love him, but it’s so very draining.

Maybe if you'll tell him that it's a draining feeling and that you don't think you can stay in a relationship like that then he might take it more seriously?😕
