Males can't take children away from females in any country I know of. File for custody asap and the worst that can happen is shared custody. Unless you aren't mentioning something illegal that you've done, or are doing. Then, occasionally courts will side with the father and take custody away from the mother. This is rare though.

Ask a close family member, or friend to assist you in speaking with him. Don't start with the police, they're not into babysitting domestic disputes, not to mention it may not go your way. Police should be your last option (think nuclear button). Start with re-phrasing your argument, or go to a family member or friend (smart ones) for some guidance.

Reach out to local organizations that help woman. They have legal aid if it comes to it. And many more resources.

Contact an attorney or a women's shelter immediately. You and your child are not safe there. If there is somewhere you can go, a friend he does not know, take your child and go there immediately.
