What Does It Mean When The Person Only Responds With a Short Sentence When Texting?

I understand that if the person isn't interested in you, that person won't respond.
Also, if the other person responds with just one or two words each time, he/she isn't interested but doesn't want to hurt your feelings.
But what if that person responds with a short sentence each time? I'm unable to get to know this person. When this happens, I feel like I'm doing all the work.

It still means they aren't interested enough in you. Especially if it's always how they communicate. The only other option is that you aren't generating a decent conversation, and the only possible replies are short sentences. But even then, they could respond with questions or their own conversation.

Don't you just dislike that - sometimes in hindsight I can only assume and wrongly or rightly, "if I was in their shoes, they're not keen to hold a conversation like dropping a hint" 🗺️🗾

2. he's busy, and thought a quick, short response would be better than a long, thoughtful one.
3. maybe he's not great at texting.

Maybe they are boring or can't communicate in text form, have you asked them it's always the answer for these types of questions don't you know..
