If you really like the other person I think you should go for it, know a few people that refuse to ever date coworkers but I think they’re missing out. You spend so much of your day working and it is a good way to meet potential friends or partners. The downside would be if you do choose to date one of you will need to switch shifts/departments so that you’re not working directly together, would want to keep it as private as possible at work (which really you should keep things to yourself in general) and there is always the risk of things becoming uncomfortable at work if you break up or fight. On the plus side if you no longer work directly together and keep your shit private it isn’t too bad in the scheme of things

I think if something develops over a while (not right away), it has real potential. I mean, you're working with this person day in and day out. If you get along with them, feel attracted and want to be around them after hours, too, that's saying something.

Normally, no, I don't recommend that. But I wouldn't make it an unbreakable rule, either. Unless all your coworkers are married. Then just... don't (duh).

Honestly how do you meet anyone else? "Third places" are to expensive with the cost of living being the first places. You have to work to find love in multiple ways in the second place of work or school.

It can be pretty brutal and disastrous but work and earning money can be the only way in interacting with people like a watering hole. Historically we could go to places and pay actual penny's just to do something fun and meet new friends and find love.

We debate if we should even make penny's any more, in the same way people giving up on love. How sad is that?
