Why is my friends with benefits mad I’m talking to another guy?

My friends with benefits male29 I’m female 23 is recently getting mad that I’m talking to another guy on social media.

When I’m not home he always asks me “ you on a date 🙄” but he never has asked me on a date himself?
We’ve been seeing each other for a few years now and I’m usually always available for him

Why does he act like this all of a sudden?
I don’t ask him any questions about other girls.

Men are normally Territorial. Same reason why many men who have side-chicks even one's they de-prioritize relationship wise do not want them to have other men beside themselves.

It's like mating season for deer's, the male deer wants to spread his seed around but fight off any other males who try to get with any female deer he has gotten with. Except for us humans there can be a conscious / subconscious split. Even if a man is not trying for kids or other stuff, he still might feel that sense of being 'cucked' on an emotional level and it can effect his behavior.

He wants sexual access to you with no want strings attached on his side and his options open but he still wants to feel that manly sense of conquest and ownership.

Because even though you’re just FWBs, to most men we still feel like you’re ours even if there’s no official commitment. Could be some jealousy, like what does this man have that peaks your interest. But more than likely it’s what I pointed out. Men don’t like sharing “their” women. Territorial even if you two aren’t official.
