Hi all, there is a girl I've known for a few years as part of a small online gaming group. She recently moved to the state I'm in, about 4 hours away.
I intend to ask her on a date, but I'm trying to figure out logistics. We both know what city each other lives in, but I have no idea about anything of what is around her. There is an area that is roughly in the middle of us (2.5 away hours for me and 1.5 hours away for her) that we both know fairly well.
Given the distance from her, do you think it would be a bad idea to ask her for a first date there despite it being an area we mutually know? I'm open to asking her to do something closer to her, I just have zero knowledge of the area she's in.

Before you launch into dating this girl. . . How often will you be able to see each other if you mutually decide you want to start dating? Ultimately, would either of you be in as position to move to the other’s location?
I started dating a girl who lived about 90 minutes away from me. I made that drive at least once a week for about six months and then she moved to my hometown and we started living together. Do you have in mind s plan for how you could make this work?
Bottom line is. . . don’t start this unless you have a way to make it work for more than one or two dates.
So, why can’t you drive the 4 hours and do research on things to do there?
