Understanding the signals and progressing?

I was talking to a friend about my love life and this particular girl interested in. We have been hanging out and talking. Based on my conversation, I'm not doing what I should be in terms of leading and progressing the relationship. It seems like he knows the inside and outs of everything. While I'm just going along with things and just thinking all is well. I just don't know what to say or do to progress the relationship. Also, knowing when to do so. I just figure she is just there to have fun abs get to know each other. From my conversation, there is more in play that I'm just oblivious to, with women. That I should pretty much find out, I'd this had more than just being friends potential. I need some advice.

Well what are you doing as opposed to what you “should be” doing? You should try to make steady progress every 7-10 days. Small steps towards progress … taking her out… getting to know her… etc.

Well, we went out a few times already. It's just making it progress more than just going out casually.
