Is it common for a guy not to be expressive to his girlfriend?

in public? Like they are dating for more than one year and in public they behave (mostly the guy) like they are not a couple. They look they are friends not a couple. They dotn hold hands, the guy does not hug her either, the guy always walk in front of the lady, not next to her. Like the guy does nto want or like to be seen showing feelings for his girlfriend, no kiss eitehr sen in public. What could this mean nothign or something? The example given is of a movie star.

His latest girlfriend is a lady of around 28 and he is 43. This actor barely is seen with love signs toward his lady when they are in public. No walking holding their hands, no hugging either, he is always walking in front of her and they been together for about one year now and a bit more.

Today I saw a video of this actor in Europe and he brought his girlfriend. The video is from a fan therefore he could act normal and dont fake a relationship because there were no paparazzis around, the photo was taken like he did not know there were people taking photos of him or videos in case he wanted to pretend. In the video, the lady was holding another man`s arms (the actor BFF), while the boyfriend (the actor) was walking in front of them with his hands behind his back. WHen this actor is caught by paparazzis with his lady in LA, the behavior is the same, never hold hands with the girlfriend, he always walk in front of her, never seem close to her and they been together for more than one year. This actor when he goes to Europe for time off or vacations, he always bring his assistant with him to assist him and the actor`s friends as well )(geez that must be an exhausted job.

I hope the assistant is paid well). the actor is dependent. I mean his girlfriend is with him and she can easily assist her boyfriend like a normal couple, mutual help but no, the boyfriend brings the assistant with him. The girlfriend is not from the entertainment circle and it is I believe unemployed and was a restaurant hostess before meeting him.

She won the lottery by dating this dude with money (trips, fancy food, mingle with important people, nice clothes, etc) and even so they dont look and act like they are a couple. In the course of two months this lady had been to Italy and now she is in Austria.
