Why would a guy sometimes act shy and othertimes arrogant around a girl?

He is usually very down to earth, talkative and sociable with everyone else but with me he is sometimes tense and othertimes he talks to me slightly condesending like I'm a silly little girl that is not worth his time even though I'm definitely not dumber than him.

Other people have pointed out that he avoids talking to me. When he is talking to me he seems withdrawn, he looks around the room like I am the most boring person in the world but for some reason he still inquires about my office hours. In group settings he looks at everyone except me.

I never pestered him and he is usually very friendly so why does he act like this? We never had any conflict and I get along with his friends just fine.

He’s probably obsessed with you. It’s why he’s being so off and so weird! TRUST ME. Trust me. Trust me. ‼️ There’s no reason for him to act like that. Whatsoever. You didn’t do shT to him. So your next move would be to do the same behavior. Mimicking. Mirror him. Befriend all his friends. Be talkative and smilie and friendly. Be jolly. Be happy. Be flirty with other guys. Act as though you’re living your absolute best life. When he approaches. Cut the conversation short. Reply with one word answers. Act as though you have to leave. Don’t give him the time of day. You don’t have to care about some imbecile disrespecting you. Don’t act offended. Don’t act worried. Behave as happy and carefree as possible. Later he might confess to you his true feelings. Depends. But don’t let it get to you. Another route; is to tell him that “you’re sorry” for doing some stupid thing to him. It could be something mundane.  Make it up . Pretend that you think you did something to him and apologize for it.  (  even though you actually obviously didn’t do anything to him  🤫 ) This will show him you’re not a bad person. This will make you look Nice and Sweet. It’ll make you look like you have self awareness and you can acknowledge your wrong doings. And obviously he’ll say , no you didn’t do anything. And he’ll feel like the bad guy. Or he’ll say “don’t worry about it”. And this’ll also kick-start a conversation for the both of you.  But be smart with this. If he says you didn’t do anything. Then you reply saying that you thought you did.  Well it’s up to you. OPTION 1 or 2. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Or you could do both. Option 1 will make you mysterious. Option 2 can start a friendship with him. You could first do option 1 and a little while later do option 2.

He’s probably shy around you I’m shy around everyone unless I’m really comfortable with you. I’m even more shy with someone I find attractive. It’s weird but I can also be hot and cold with someone, others might think I’m rude for it but it’s just how the environment feels around me at the time
