Why does my guy friend say he doesn’t want a relationship with me ever if he considers me beautiful and really likes my personality?

Coming from a man’s perspective I have a friend just like this. I value her far too much as a friend to ever want to change that. She’s too important to me to ever even run the remote risk of a more intimate relationship not working out and losing her.

If he truly feels that way about you, then it's because he knows he will hurt you. Probably because he's not mature enough for a serious relationship. I 100% rejected great girls in my early/mid 20s for this reason.

I had a woman stalk me for 2 years. Why? Because she liked my attention. I knew that! It didn't take much to keep her chasing. That's how it works.
Likewise I've had women lead me on the same way before. That's how it works.
