It is good to be selective but it is essential to be realistic.

A lot of desirable attributes are roughly about 1 in 3 have. One third are single - presumably that is mandatory (I hope). Probably 1 in 3 men will be in your desired age range. One third of men are 6ft +. The 25th percentile income is about 100K in the US at 35. At 29 it is 75K. 100K at 29 is about the upper 3%tile.

So single 6ft+ guys in the right age cohort are.33x.33 x.33 or 3% of the total male population. Roughly 30 in 1000 men you meet will be that. If you are also wanting 100K income attached to a 29 yo man, then you are gunning for 1 man in a thousand men that you meet qualifying as potential dates

If you were OK with a 35 yo man there would be almost 9 men in a 1000 qualifying. Your prospects will have almost increased 10 fold.

Quite simply you are going to have to do a lot of meeting and greeting to find a 1 in a 1000 man that also wants you for more than casual sex. A 0.1% man will have a lot of women wanting him. So he can be selective too and you might not make his cut off.

So you do need to be realistic because you can swing the odds to highly unlikely if you aren't.

Being picky is good, but only within a near equal value as a potential partner. For example, if the woman wants a man that is 6' tall, strong, faithful, doesn't do drugs, provider, etc. then she should be fit, no tattoos, faithful, doesn't do drugs, waiting until marriage for sex (that last one applies to the ones that expect a man to provide for her). And for a man, if he expects the qualities I listed in a mate, he should bring the other qualities I listed as well. Of course there are more qualities people want than just those in a partner though.

Basically, people should bring nearly as much quality in themselves to a relationship as they expect from a potential partner.

For example, if you only want to date men who are taller than 6 feet tall, and only roughly 14% of men are this, and how many of those 14% of men are not available? But you are not able to get a date. You might be too picky.
