Simple, because there are so many things why
And 10 of those are:
1) we have our Ideal type
2) We want every box checked or no relationship at all
3) we sometimes have high standards
4) We believe a perfect person is out there
5) We are sometimes fixated on qualities that don’t matter
6) we sometimes don’t want to be in a relationship
7) We sometimes Can Easily Find Something Wrong With Anyone
8) We Rarely Feel a Strong Connection to another person
9) We Tend to Do the Rejecting or Dumping that like us if we don't like them
10) Attraction (this is why we sometimes have a crush)

I am picky and unapologetic about it... the reason for that I have found many with the traits I love. It's hard to choose but these I love most - compatability, attraction, hygiene, intellectually stimulating, sexual chemistry, emotional intelligence, adventurous, open mind & big heart... I find these important the list goes on and on... When we ignore people's flaws and see what we love more than what we don't like, life is so much easier than worrying and stressing because people don't change for you. They change for themselves.

There's no such thing as too picky. When you meet someone you like you'll overlook the details that you dislike for the overall that you do like.
All this talk about standards and how having a type is a bad thing is just misguided deceptive propaganda pushed by those who are less often desired as a way to guilt trip people into settling for them.
While I belive that anyone can find the person they appeal to, I also believe that everyone has a predetermined image of that person both physically and intellectually.

Also I only really like confident, intelligent, independent girls with that bit of individuality.

People who aren't picky don't know what they want, and when they figure out what they want, they will become picky.

A lot of people don't like to admit that sort of thing to themselves, that they actually have specific wants in a partner, because it shrinks the dating pool by a lot.

But the thing is, the pool is going to be shrunk no matter what, because compatibility will always be a thing, it's just that the smart ones don't think we can jump off a diving board into the 2 inch deep end just becsuse it's 90% of the pool.

You might see people argue against this, but those are people who want your money or your stuff, not you.

I was in love before and at that like 3 times so i can't accept any feeling less than that. Falling in love like that is rare so i guess that makes me picky. I think there are too mediocre things in life and i want love to be great and not just ok. I want someone id bereally crazy about and who would be crazy about me. Unfortunately falling in love isn't enough and the person you fall for may be an asshole so now exept falling in love in equasion come rational reasons to not want to date someone, so odds for that even being filled are even less.

They have high expectations of how their ideal woman should be and look but when us women have high expectations towards them and their income they get offended. Which quite honestly I don't care. Depends on what you're picky about

Generalists are maybe more suited to everyone, have options (can deal with anyone)

Specialised, if someone is too picky even about the things that might not matter, overestimations , they might stay alone bounded by their own beliefs.

Cause I have a high bar to reach, so aid my ex. I asked for honesty within reason (I really don't care if they lied about what they wore yesterday).. non cheating. Not to degrade me or talk bad about me or lay a hand on me in any bad way. Someone who doesn't talk crap about their family. Not have an issue with my child being with me 24/7. And someone who holds their own financially (just like I hold my own). Apparently my bar is too high 🙃 Still won't lower it. That's the minimum for me.

I rather be picky than indecisive. Picky people know what they want and dont care to get involved in such childish games of dating around to find out what they want and they dont always need to “go with the flow” (which often ends up beinf a waste of time). I try not to be picky on a superficial level. That type of relationship rarely lasts. However, being picky or selective is simply finding someone I am compatible with. Someone I want to make happy and care about. If I don't think we are into one another or if I am not really looking forward to hanging out with the person, the last thing I want is for the relationship to be strung along. I want to avoid getting hurt or hurting the other person. If it doesn't feel right, it isn't.
