It can be number of reasons, maybe poor choice of partners (they don't make you feel good or they put you down), maybe you put yourself down with not taking care of yourself as you do when you feel good and attractive.

This could be a numbers game. When you're single, there are plenty of other guys who might find you attractive, and you'll happily accept that. When in a relationship, you feel you must be attractive to your partner, and don't accept that others might find you attractive.
