We broke up but he still wants to check on my daughter that’s not his?

I met this guy in may we were dating it wasn’t really working out so we mutually broke it off. And he told me that we were still cool and that he would still check on my daughter. My daughter has only met this man once and that’s because we did a date at the park. I talk about my daughter here and there she is one years old but he hasn’t formed a bond with her because they’ve seen one another once. So i told him he didn’t have to check in on her we should have a clean cut off

Dang that is a weird situation luv. Like I can understand maybe he was starting to care about your daughter too since you guys were dating, but it was only that one time they met! And you said it yourself, they didn't really get a chance to form a proper bond. It's cool that he cares and all, but it sounds like you guys weren't actually together that long either.

I definitely agree with your call to have a clean break. Now that you're broken up, he doesn't need to be checking up on her or anything. That's kind of overstepping if you ask me. I know if I was in your shoes, I wouldn't really be comfortable with some random guy who I just dated for a bit still trying to hang around my kid, you know? Like she's your daughter, not his.

Plus kids need stability. If he's popping in and out, that's just gonna confuse her. And who knows what his motives really are - like maybe he's not fully over you yet or something and is using checking on her as an excuse to still be around. I feel like you made the right choice telling him to back off so you can both fully move on from this relationship.

Don't feel bad about it at all. You gotta do what's best for you and your daughter. Hopefully now he'll respect your boundaries and give you your space. Just focus on you two and finding someone new who understands that your kid comes before anything else! Good luck with everything.

Maybe he wants to form a bond with her so when she turns 18, they can enjoy romance. He sounds like a good guy so I'm pretty sure he will wait for her to be of the age of consent. Just because he isn't the right guy for you, doesn't mean you should be selfish and tinker in your daughter's future love life out of jealousy.

Not judging you but we what I see on the news, I don’t think it’s a good idea to introduce strangers to your daughter. And he is creepy to say he needs to check up on her. That’s not his kid and she barely knows her. Girl run!
