No. If he’s trying to control you in any way that’s a red flag. If he’s trying to control your behavior then the further you go into the relationship the more controlling he will become. The more you resist or don’t do what he wants the more likely he will become violent. Frustration over not being able to control you will result in violence. I guarantee it.

Not really you can't work through someone controlling you. He will only get worse and aggressive with it and abusive!
