Is matching on dating apps (I. e, tinder, bumble, etc.) harder for men, or is it harder for women, or both? Why?

Both in different ways though I don’t recommend online dating very often.

For men they definitely get less attention mostly because women are getting LOTS of attention. But that’s the other problem is that women get lots of attention from men who don’t want anything serious. It’s hard to sift through people because you can easily ignore someone whose genuinely wanting something but respond to someone who ain’t. You just don’t know….

Also a lot of men ghost people some do it because they’re taking to too many people. Others do it because they feel rejected all the time so the…. Times they don’t get rejected they do the rejecting? Makes no sense but they do it.

Men by far. Women get their inboxes flooded just for being a woman. They don't even have to do anything to their profile. There are tons of guys that will like it for just being a girl. All women have to do is filter the guys and select one that they want to try dating. But the main thing is they have options and can find a date usually even by the end of the day just by posting a profile.

Whereas men get little to no attention and have no options if they're an average guy online. Out of all the matches we get and messages we send, very few girls will message back. It's because they have all their options to pick from. Why would they choose an average guy out of the hundred guys messaging her in her inbox?

Dating apps are depressing as a men and really makes us feel incredibly undesired, whereas it does the opposite for women and gives them an ego boost.

Women might get more matches, but we are talking dating apps. The matching algorithms are bogus at the best of times. 99% of men on dating apps are total dead-ends, unless you are so desperate you will stoop that low.

It's WAY harder for a guy to match with someone. Unless it's both guys. If it's a guy trying to go for like a girl. It's not EVEN a question

Girls get like 100s of likes every day. Not the case for your average guy. But even if you put a handsome guy in there. I promise you he'll have a significantly less successful time than an equally attractive girl. I could even argue he'd still lose if it were just an average girl

The reason is because Girls get flooded with likes so they don't have to really go looking. They just get guys coming to them. As for a guy they're the ones who are sending the likes.

Not to mention even if you do match with a girl. Now you gotta deal with the fact that she's still getting flooded with messages so it gets overwhelming for the girl to reply to everyone. And then that guys message gets lost in the depths of messages. So now you got like 2 or 3 messages at BEST to say something to catch their attention. And that's harder than you'd think especially cause you have to come up with something new with every girl. That's ASSUMING she even sees it

Both, it's easy to say that it's harder for men, but if the justification is that they're being too picky, then they fall into a trap of their own making where few men are going to select even fewer women.

Also men in general have always had to put more effort out. Women don't generally approach, so we need to do that regardless of an app, and keep the tension going if we want things to go anywhere. I'll agree that dating wise a lot of things are getting worse and worse with online dating, but on this one I don't think too much has changed.

Past just matching that's a different story though. Lots of OF bots.

Harder for men. That doesn't mean it's a great experience for women necessarily either.

It's harder for men because 95% of the women (not an exagerration) are looking for that unicorn, if they're looking for a man at all. That is to say many are there just looking for validation from men. Good men will make effort to a point. But even good men throw in the towel after a while. Because good men do have self respect. The end result of this is this chases the good men away and the women are left with what is left which primarily f***boys and daterape predators.
