Aw boo, I've totally been there before too. Having crushes at work can really suck cause you spend all day with them but can't do anything about it usually. Don't be so hard on yourself though - we've all wasted time obsessing over people who probably didn't care that much. A few things that help:
- Realize they're just normal people too. Sure they're hot, but I guarantee they've got flaws you don't see.
- Remind yourself you deserve someone who wants you back. Don't chase after someone who's not gonna reciprocate your feelings.
- Keep yourself busy with other stuff after work so you're not dwelling on it. Hang with friends, play video games, anything to take your mind off.
- Put distance between you if possible at work so it's not as easy to fantasize about them. Out of sight helps get them out of mind.
- Maybe try putting yourself out there more on apps or asking friends to set you up. Finding someone else can help you get over the work crush quicker.
- Give it time - crushes fade faster than you think, especially if you make an effort not to obsess. You'll laugh about pinin' over this dude soon enough!
Chin up - we all have awful crushes sometimes. You'll survive this and be glad when someone comes along who really likes you back just as much. Don't stress too much about wasted time - live and learn, right?
The give it time part is so true I know from experience
@Nsonanim Ugh yeah, nothing but time really heals the sting of unrequited crushes. It's rough going through those feelings when the other person clearly isn't on the same page. Letting yourself feel disappointed is important, but don't dwell on it for too long.
Easier said than done, I know. But staying positive and staying busy with people who appreciate you is key. One day you'll look back and be glad you're not wasting mental space on dudes who weren't worth it. Hang in there - you got this! In no time at all you'll meet someone way better who won't have you second guessing how they feel. The right guy for you is out there!
Stop doing so and learn that your attention should only be given to someone who reciprocates.
True. Why did k waste my time on guys who didn’t reciprocate.
