In 2024 how hard is it to use dating apps as a man why is it so awful?

i started using dating apps, do i have a disadvantage as a man as people say? im a nursing student looking for a girlfriend, should I start using bumble or just try in person?

I'd heard stories about those programs, but just how bad it was was explained to me the other year when someone told it was- and I quote- "like Black Mirror". I knew that seeking a partner on a gender-lopsided platform incentivized to make people reject you was a losing proposition, but I hadn't realized it was "Medieval Scottish Sorcerer" bad.

This may be a problem too deep to fix.

Unless you're swiping right on every single woman even the ones you're not interested in, you'll rarely get any matches. And even if you do get a match, it's rare for them to message back and keep it going long enough for it to go anywhere. It's not worth it. And this is coming from someone who has an account in almost every dating app there is.

I've been on reddit which is free and so far have found some matches. I would give that a shot. It's a subreddit called MeetPeople and MeetNewPeople and you may find what you're looking for.

You are cute by the way. Not sure what kind of girl you're looking for but I'm probably not your type. But look on reddit.

Not sure from a guys pov, but from a woman's it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Sure you'll get more hits but most are not worth the time or effort. Finding a partner is really hard for both sexes, for different reasons.

If you are using a dating app, you are already failing. Step outside, look around, there are literally women everywhere and at least 50% of them are potential dates.
