Am I being petty with not wanting to text this person?

I really don’t like when people are like “text me”…no you text ME. Long story short, I matched with someone on bumble a few months ago & meeting up fell through the cracks (my fault). I reach out to him maybe a month ago & he didn’t reply, figured he wasn’t interested and we end up matching on another app last wk which shocked me. He reaches out, I told him I tried reaching recently on bumble & he said he didn’t know bc he hasn’t checked the app in a while. We’re in the works of potentially meeting tomorrow & he suggests a place/gives info on the place then says “we’ll have better communication if you text me (gives #)”. I only message on the app & kinda hold off on giving my # anyway but still would’ve preferred “could I have your number?” This is how I feel🤷🏻‍♀️

I wouldn’t overthink this because it feelings like you’re both doing your part, and he was putting the ball in your court. Like he reached out first when you matched, He picked the place and suggested a time, so what’s wrong with you sending the text? If this is about comfortability then ask him if he doesn’t mind staying on the app for a bit to communicate. Back when I used apps I suggested Snapchat first before giving out my number for my own comfort, so I think it’s no big deal if you still want some anonymity.

Yes because it is totally understandable that he moved from one app to another, Hell probably didn’t think we would pair with you again (just like how you did, Hell even I wouldn’t expect it).
He then says for better communication, here is my number.

I see it as petty just for the end part since he was the one to give you his number, he just was giving a better means of reaching him for the past mishaps / probably feels like a fool for switching apps without informing / not responding to you in the first place.

Here's my suggestion: don't give him your phone number and don't message him. You fucked up the first time but so what> You don't owe him anything. Keep a "fuck you" attitude and don't meet him. Don't worry about his feelings; he'll handle getting blown off much easier the second time and he will soon find someone else.

Eventually, you might meet someone who can tolerate that attitude. It might be 20 years from now, but they will be the right one - maybe.

If I don't want to give my number to a woman I don't give it. Period! If I'm not giving I probably feel there's a good reason not to. And I do not owe her an explanation. If she wants to alleviate my suspicions she will continue to talk to me on the app there's no good reason not to. And if she doesn't want to do that SIMPLE thing that tells me how rough the rest of the "relationship" would be in the future. So this would probably result in the end of things for me.

So no, I don't think you're being petty I totally agree with this. I NEVER push a woman to do anything before she's ready because I wouldn't want somebody pushing me before I was ready.
