Just like how some guys are into nerdy, bookish girls who are smart and get straights A's, the same can be said for a lot of girls, although generally speaking, the number of guys who are into nerdy girls is much higher than the number of girls who are into nerdy guys.

As a lifelong nerd myself, I also had mixed responses from girls growing up. Now, I wasn't the typical nerd you usually see being made fun of in media; wearing huge glasses that make their eyes pop out, side parted slicked back hair, braces and a typical nerd's attire, but I've always been an introverted bookworm who was good at his grades, liked keeping to himself and was a massive gamer (still am).

As a result, a lot of girls thought I was cool and interesting, and said that my nerdiness made me different from all the other jocks, which gave me an air of mystery and more unique as a person. Generally speaking, however, the girls I actually did end up attracting the most were equally nerdy like I was, and I guess that's how it usually is; nerds attract nerds, and I think that's perfect imho. Nobody's gonna get you better than someone who shares the same traits as you do

As a video game/ anime type of nerd, I will say the world is made up of all types of people. It is statistically unlikely you'll go through life without at least hearing of someone who does like the non-academic nerdy guys as well as the collegiate nerdy guys.

Now, finding someone compatible for you is somewhat rare, so don't let it get you down so much. There's more to life than relationships although I will say they do make things more fun when you have that bond with someone.

I will always proudly be myself even if it turns some people away, I am best at being a dweeb so dweeb connoisseurs who may eventually find me will be pleasantly surprised. And this is only possible by being comfortable with being alone, and working on myself baby steps at a time. Hopefully some day I'll be in a mutual-attraction relationship, but I won't hold my breath.

Who said that? Like everything else in life, it's a preference.
All of my exes and former crushes were all nerds and geeks- it's just what I'm drawn to because, well I'm a geek, haha. So of course I'm going to prefer a guy with similar interests to me.

Whereas a woman that is not a nerd will probably not be as attracted to nerds. That's not to say it doesn't happen, it's just not as likely unless he has a personality she is drawn or attracted to (or he's attractive; let's just be real... most people are superficial as hell).

My guess would be it's the social expectation that men should be loud, rowdy, assertive, physically strong, athletic, etc.

And most nerdy guys don't fit into any of those.

For the record I don't agree with this social norm, I'm just kind of stating how most people tend to look at it.
