Why are white men afraid of approaching women these days?

Not really a race thing it's more of a western thing, but our media has told us time and time again that cold-approaching women (journalists call it "unwanted contact") is harassment and the average man does not to hurt women, especially the ones they like.

Metoo only makes this worse by attempts to criminally charge the man who approached for a sexual crime of some sort and his life will be ruined regardless of whether or not he was found guilty.

This is going to backfire horribly because now the only men who will cold approach will eventually be the ones women don't want approaching them because they don't care about whether or not he is harassing her.

Intimidated? Yes. Outright scared? Sometimes, but not because I'm afraid of getting 'MeToo'd, but I'm afraid of women, period, which is not necessarily a bad thing. We could do with a little more respect for women in general. They're positioned to burn the entire country to the ground a month from now, so I strongly recommend that w tread lightly and be on our best behavior.

@Levin When I use the term 'afrai', , I mean it in a figurative emotional sense, not a physical one. I think this exemplifies the degree of respect, fascination and awestruck admiration I hold for our X chromosome counterparts.

Seriously though, I know from personal experience on here and other online places that all races of guys are eager participates in trying to flirt and get sexual. So not sure this is a white men problem.

Men and women are definitely still being cold approached. I'm not American for context so could be a cultural element to it. The city where I live has a small population and chatting to anyone is pretty normal.

In Western cultures there's kind of a wholesale assault on men, with fairly predictable results. Men are so poopooed, their masculinity perpetually told is wrong, that it's no wonder men are no longer sure of themselves and their place in society. Female qualities are celebrated. But of course, as a man, you have no hope approaching with those passive qualities.
