Do you ever compare yourself to other people?

No I like myself. Even tho I'm an old guy. And when I look at some I look deep

Because I truly want to know who they are and everybody has their own characteristics their own mark on themselves that is usually a pretty beautiful thing that's unique and I like that..

No I mean and we all make ourselves we all choose we want to be alive when we're successful as we want to get I guess or we are only successful to the point of what we put into it I mean I'm happy where I'm at now there's no such thing as getting lucky on it I wish there was but it's just hard work

You know that old saying wish in one hand and something in the other hand or I can't really wish for something that somebody else has I mean there's lessons with that

I know this lady that has a business well she's like 132nd of an owner to the business but she also works for the business and she is the most difficult person in the world to get along with because she wants everything her way as if she owns everybody or she's a control freak and her grandparents gave her the business their part of the business.. and she's on a power trip her house was given to her everything that she owns it was given to her..
So she doesn't know what it's like to work to get the things that you work for and everything that she makes people go through because she wants it her way she wants other people's houses to look the way she wants it to she doesn't like the color she says no you can't paint it that color she wants every house the way she wants it I think that's wrong
Her grandparents left her a lot of things and I don't wish that I had any of that because I don't wish to be anything like her because she is just completely wrong and everything that she does that's just my point of view I think there's a bunch of other people that agree with me that live right where I live and go through the same thing I go through but I don't wish I wish you would just leave everybody alone LOL I know I don't compare myself to anybody I like being unique and different and I just like being me and for material things material things suck I mean they come and go it doesn't even really matter if you want something that's beautiful you have to find that love and just play together be together work together to make everything happen whatever you want

Of course. You learn from seeing others and not only get a better understanding of them as people and how they treat others, but also what to avoid in them and what to accept and implement in our own lives.

For me, it's more like a default mechanism of mine where I'd analyze and try to figure out any new person I come across and meet (sizing them up, noticing their every detail etc) and overall, getting a better read on them.

If you mean comparing in the sense of evaluating different shelves at IKEA, or browsing catalogs of people on dating apps then: No, thanks, it's a rather inhumane quest as it is a disjointing perspective at life, for myself and other people.

Also, highlighting what @Caroline91 said, self to self comparison makes more sense, non-obsessively, in the context of personal fulfilment. If obsessive, then we're back at the first line of my comment, as it is a distorted way to consider self-help.

Yes, all of the time. Since I lost my kids in family court to a crazy woman. I then became crazy myself. After wondering the globe aimlessly as a free man out of the army and now with little care n the world I slowly came back to sanity but never fully. I used to just compare things like athleticism to other people, then it became every aspect like the ones you mentioned.

I realize how important some intangible things are like character, its important for yourself too. You have to love yourself before you can love others and I guess that means forgive yourself so you can forgive others too.

No. I don't do that. I know there are people who are smarter than me, better looking than me, and better educated; still doesn't make me any less though. This is where true confidence comes in, I'm at an age where I stopped comparing myself to others years ago, that's not how I measure my success. I am perfectly happy with who I am and what I have to offer.

Not really. I often appreciate or admire other people, but I don't compare myself to them. I do, however, compare myself to me. Like if I did something and I do it again, am I able do it better this time? Did I improve or fall short? How can I do it better next time?

Of course, but it's not a self deprecating thing. It used to be a bit self deprecating, though. We all have ways that we do/know/are superior to others in, so I know that I'm a mixed bag like everyone else.

For instance, even though I love my eyes, intelligence, and voice; there's a guy whose body, beard, and dance skills I'm quite envious of. He's just a gorgeous Puerto Rican man named Abraham 😂

I don't think anyone can honestly say that they never compare themselves to others. I do, not nearly as much as I did as a younger man, but I am aware of doing so on occasion.
