What is the purpose in dating if you don’t actively try?

Like our mutual friends would say our communication sucked and I would on numerous occasions try to sit down and have conversations with her but she was never interested either it was triggering or she wasn't interested. When I would try to talk she would be on her phone scrolling through social media. So what’s the purpose in dating if you aren’t going to invest your whole self and it’s a half approach

There isn't any. Unfortunately with a significant number of women today who treat guys as "space filler". Which means she doesn't really want to date him. But she will until something "better" comes along. Because to these women the guy isn't anything but someone who tends to her needs and her attitude to him is, "he should just be grateful he gets to call me girlfriend for a bit".

It's up to the guy to figure this out and put these types of women back on the street.
