At what point do men start addressing a girl as “his”?

Question

7 months in, I started getting called “My Love”, “My pretty girl”, “My baby”, “My babygirl” “My sexy girl” and etc and with everything he says he uses “My”.

We are not officially together though. We are Long Distance, why is he addressing me like that?

This way he is expecting you won't be interested in other men

I have similar situation with one female , she using all those words , like she is saying I forbid you to be interested in any other girl , even though we are not together and we only texting and sexting , we met only once , she is obsessed with me , but this is her problem, not mine , I'm not hers, but she behaves like I'm 👀🙈😅

I don't know, the puppy talk speaks to his comfortability after so long but that’s the thing — it’s been so long, with no relationship title in place. If you’re ok with that then cool but I feel like after 7 months if he’s into you enough to address you with puppy talk then he should care enough at this point to try and make the distance work. Unless it really doesn’t, then you’re just filling the void until something either of you can actually commit to comes along.

Once we are "official" I'm "his" girlfriend the same as he is "my" boyfriend etc...

For your situation i guess it depends how comfortable you are with it. If not, say something and have a conversation about it.

That doesn't necessarily mean ownership. If you've ever watched The Wizard of Oz movie, the wicked witch calls Dorothy "My Pretfy", which just means she is there.

He is probably saying that to mean that he is with you, in spirit if not physically.

If she was my girlfriend, once we started dating exclusively, which would have been after only a couple of dates, I would introduce her as my girlfriend." I didn't mean it possessively like I owned her. But we were a couple so it was natural to say "my".

I call my wife "My baby" or "My sweetheart" all the time as terms of endearment. I probably did the same thing with girlfriends, too.

I would start doing that when I felt it appropriate to express possessiveness. The first time might be unconscious sentiment or conscious sentiment.

I don't see that long distance need make that much difference other than not being able to share a bed.

At 7 months, endearments would seem to be appropriate. I am getting the impression you are not seeing things as you think he is. In which case you should tell him.

Well me and the ex started giving each other nicknames and calling each other ours about half a year into dating long distance. Looking back I guess that could be considered too quick, but we felt strongly for each other. Or at least I know I did.

O don't know that there is a certain time frame but if he feels that you are his, then he will call you his. Also, of you tell him that you want to be his, then that will definitely work.
