I’ve been dating my boyfriend for 6 months so far and it’s been really great and a really healthy relationship. He constantly mentions a future with me and does say that he plans to marry me. When he says this I assume in like 2 years from now, but he had mentioned getting me a promise ring, and I told him that it’s practically promising me that you’ll get engaged to me and at that point why not just wait till you actually want to propose to me so you’re not buying two different rings. Now I don’t know if he still wants to get me a promise ring it doesn’t bother me if he does or doesn’t. But he also asked if I like Yk the real diamonds or the lab grown ones and I said i don’t know the difference really and I don’t mind. We were also watching a movie yesterday and there was an engagement in the movie and he was smiling at me and had told me he loved during the movie. He also mentions his grandpa took a picture of us together and gave it to my boyfriend and told him to “give it to his future mother in law” . Also he mentions his mom really liking me based on things she says and she had hugged me the first time I had dinner with him and his parents.

Probably , but don't accept at this point , its far far too soon and you are both young there is absolutely zero reason to rush this absolutely vital move , agree that promise rings are complete BS.

Honestly, I was worried he'd propose too soon and Id have to say no and atp I don't know if the relationship would be awkward, but he hasn't proposed and I hope he does wait at least 2 years

Hi I was asking if he’s going to like soon. I was scared of it happening too soon, I spoke to him, it’s probably not happening for another year or two but I was trying to catch on to if he was planning to do it soon so I can say something before I Yk crash a proposal, if that makes any sense lol

I'm 19, he is 23 tho and I was worried bc he was also talking about a friend of his, his age getting married, I didn't want to reject him but I also don't want to be married to someone I barely know, but we did have a conversation and he said he'd probably propose if I remember correctly 2-3 years from now, I heard years and that response was enough for me!

Worried that he was going to propose? What's to worry about? You just say "I'm not ready to get married, and don't plan on it until I'm at least number years old. I need to... before I think about that.

It’s silly bc I overthink a lot but if he went and got a ring and planned everything and got down on one knee I’d feel really shitty for saying no even tho it’s the wrong time and would be able to bring myself to say no bc I’d be scared to lose him , like yes that response is definitely the right way to go, but I’d panic before thinking straight.

Make sure he knows how you feel -- that you are not ready to marry anytime soon. If he can't wait, tell him to find someone else. If he proposes anyway, then he's simply not listening to you and you should decline and end it.
