Hey, I have a list of standards for guys that I could potentially date. I want to know if my expectations are too high and if I should lower them.
- Matches My Intellect - We would preferably be in classes of the same difficulty level so that we could study together
- Can Bench 110 - He has to be able to carry me out of a burning building
- 5’7” or Taller - Sorry, I love my heels to much to give them up
- Sense of Humor - I definitely have a playful side, and I want him to match my energy (or at least crack a smile at my stories)
- Passionate - There is nothing more attractive to me than seeing a guy’s eyes light up when they get excited about something
- Even-Tempered - I’m super reactive, so he has to be able to keep calm, especially in an emergency
- Good Listener - I know that I can be hard to keep up with sometimes, but I would appreciate it if he at least tried (bonus points if he can hold his own in a conversation with me)
- Self-Reliant but Present - Being in a relationship does not mean being codependent, but it does mean being attentive to your partner’s needs and supporting each other
- Kindhearted - I don’t want a guy that is sweet to me but rude to others because that’s how he’ll treat me over time
- Responsible - He has to be hardworking but know how to have a work-life balance and manage his time
- Loyal - If I find out that he’s having an affair or using me for something, he’s not getting a second chance
- Family Approval - I don’t want to be given an ultimatum over a guy
- Domestic - A 9-5 job does not mean that he can’t help out around the house
- Doesn’t Push His Heritage Onto Me - If he can’t respect Chinese culture, he can get the hell out, and I definitely will not be converting to his religion or following his customs
- Know What He Wants - He needs to have a clear idea of what he wants to do in the future and whether he wants me to be a part of it (it’s okay if he doesn’t, but it’s not okay for him to waste my time)
