Should I tell him I’m a virgin?

Okay I’m embarrassingly old to be a virgin (25) and I just want to get it out the way. I’ve been talking to this guy and it’s getting more intimate. We’ve been on some dates and text every day but I don’t think his intent is a relationship. That’s why I’m a little reluctant to bring it up. I’m just debating if I should warn him cause I heard virgins are pretty bad at it and he might have to be pretty gentle with me. I don’t think it’s a big deal. I genuinely want to just do it before I turn 26. Do you think telling him would make him no longer want to sleep with me? He’s a nice guy and asks permission at each step. But I’m scared I’ll make it seem more serious than it is if I bring it up. What should I do?

Communication is key when it comes to relationships and sex. If you tell him you are, you are indicating it's something that you may be interested in and leave the ball in his court as to whether or not he wants to follow through with it.

I would just say to be cautious because you don't want to have regrets with having sex. If you are just interested in it just to lose your virginity, that's your call, but you may regret it later on, but maybe you won't.

Thanks! That’s what I’ve been struggling with. Part of me just really wants to get it out the way and don’t think it’s that deep, but I’ve always told myself I’d have to be in a relationship to do it. I might just gauge his reaction and see where I want to go from there

Definitely consider if losing it is more important than being in a relationship first. I know personally I need to be in a relationship and have romantic feelings for a person before I'd ever consider sex. That may not be the same for you, and that's perfectly valid.

I don't know, I think for my age most people think it’s weird to still be one. And the way I look people just assume I’m very sexual, so it feels like I’d be letting him down when I tell him
