I've been dating a guy and I think he is pretty serious. We're a few dates in and I have yet to tell him that I am a virgin.
I didn't wanna say anything from the start because it's a private subject and I don't tell anyone on first date obviously.
But now I can feel he is starting to close in on me and it makes me more nervous than non virgins naturally. He kisses me often and he touches me as well now. I can tolerate most of it but I do still feel nervous and stiff in these situations.
He tried to feel me up privately at some point and I gently took his hand away because I was really overwhelmed in that moment. He respects my boundries but I don't want him to feel rejected. He is very affectionate with me but I have a hard time giving back affection because of my insecurities and because I am not used to intimicay with a man. I keep a distance to him automatically.
This could lead to him thinking I am not interested and I don't like him. I think I trust him enough now to tell him it's because I am a virgin and am therefore wary and cautious and need to become acustomed to being intimate. I am not sure how he will react but I need to tell him, otherwhise I will be nervous and awkward and he won't know why. Maybe he already suspects something because I don't reciprocate the advances?
How do I approach this? Do I need to tell him in person? I fear I might become emotional so I would rather via text but is it inappropriate?
