What is your ideal first date?

First, we go to Dirty Arnie's greasy spoon and have one of his famous greaseburgers, then, we take a nice long romantic walk through a dark alley in Skid Row, maybe play an occasional game of rat soccer if we see one scurry along. If we spot a Sterno bum, we beat him up and steal his Ripple from him, go off into a dark dumpster somewhere and get so drunk, we decided to just crash right there in the dumpster together in each other's arms!
When morning comes, if the garbage men haven't taken us away, yet, we stroll over to Ceidro Willy's Engraved Doughnuts stand and get a couple engraved doughnuts. Mine will say, "I'm all hers" and hers will say, "He's all mine!" As we eat our doughnuts, we stroll over to McBarnyard's Golden Starches for a real breakfast of slightly used pancakes & cough syrup and a nice cup of 40-weight motor oil to wash it down with.

As for me I like a little adventure where you can get silly & stupid with each other & get to know each other in the process. Something fun & something in the sun would be wonderful & if two minds & hearts connect a wonderful future awaits.

I am now married, but when I was dating, I had a standard first date that worked well. Remember that, for my generation, a first date is almost always a dinner date. Also, my first dates tended to be with ladies I had met online, and I never offered to pick them up where they live, because they had not yet met me and might not want to reveal where they lived.

My first date location was Seasons 52, a nice, upscale but not over the top restaurant. Reservations were recommended, and some women were impressed simply by the fact that I had made reservations. I generally chose Friday night for first dates, and I would go directly from the office to the restaurant, so I usually was wearing a suit.

Seasons 52 has has good ambience, is quiet enough for conversation, has valet parking, good food, and a lounge. Appropriate dress is at least very nice casual or cocktail party attire, and this allowed me to see if a lady would put an effort into looking her best. It allowed me to see her manners and social graces, how she treated wait staff, and whether she would order the most expensive item on the menu. A smart lady would ask what I was ordering, and then she would order something in the same price range.

If the date was going well, after dinner I would suggest that we adjourn to the lounge for an after-dinner drink, or walk across the street to the Capitol Grille, another upscale restaurant. Most ladies did not use the valet parking, so I would walk them back to their car at the end of the date, holding hands, and perhaps ending with a goodnight kiss.

I probably had 20 first dates at Seasons 52 and it always worked well for me.

I don't really have dating experience (I always just jumped into relationships and skipped the dating phase) so I'm not the best person to ask. But if I had a partner with no boundaries it would look something like an early start for an early meal. Comfort food, not fancy. Off to a light physical activity. Bowling, indoor rock climbing, arcade, pool, axe throwing, escape room, etc... bonus points for multiple things, instead of spending too much time on one.

Had over to a sports bar kind of place and grab appetizers and drinks while watching an MMA card. Head back to one of our houses for more drinks, and a movie, while laying with/cuddling each other. End in dirty sex, a Xanax, and a good night sleep in a big bed with no cuddling. wake up late, drink coffee, and make breakfast together. With orange juice. Then go to the beach to lay in the sun and chug coconut water and Gatorade to recover from the hangover. Then go separate ways.

I've never even thought about this before, so thanks for inviting me and making me think. I'm saving this post and making this happen with my wife.

Take a ride on my motorcycle, if she's afraid of bikes, it isn't going to work out anyways.

Then some BBQ joint, to see if she gets messy when eating. If she does, she's a keeper, if she doesn't I know she isn't having fun. Too up-tight for me.

Realistically, we meet and can almost finish each others sentences we have so much in common. I found this once. Unfortunately, she had issues and broke up with me. She was someone that was really jealous. Jealousy is a cancer in a relationship. I don't have anything to do with someone that is super jealous.

Fantasy is the same but with a blow job at the end of the date.

I like something like an art gallery so that we can look at cool things and talk. That's pretty low key but gives us both a chance to get comfortable with each other and chat. If things are going really well, it's then nice to bounce to something else like maybe do something in the park or go dancing or something that provides some opportunity for physical contact. Depending on how that goes we could either call it a day or maybe move on to something else! :P

First meeting, maybe first two, is something mellow, inexpensive, and easy to end quickly. Coffee shop type. I don't care if she thinks I'm cheap or broke, as that reveals her intentions to me. Once it becomes clear that she is into me and not free meals, then we go somewhere nice.

I love ⛵ boats, especially jet 🎿 boats.
One of my best dates was with a guy that took me out in his boat early in the morning and tied it up to the dock in front of a very nice restaurant and we had a wonderful breakfast first.
Then spent the rest of the day I the Pacific Ocean 🌊
