What is your ideal first date? Where and when?

To me, a first dat is just about getting to know the person and see if there's anything to add to.

I prefer a casual first date, like a walk in the park or something like that.

It's ideal if we enjoyed the date and both want to see each other. Hopefully where we have something in common, interest was shown and maybe laughing as well.

I don't really have an ideal first date. The company is what matters so as long as it's good I don't really care about the details.

Also one of my first dates with my ldr partner was at a pet shop. Showed him all the animals 😂. I’d probably consider doing that again when he and I link up.

In the winter: I personally love a winter market (same for the summer and fall). You walk around, get to see some fun things you might pick up for Christmas gifts. You get to see what they like, and vice-versa. Also going for a walk to the park, or going sledding is also a fun activity. Followed by an apple cider or a tea in a cozy cafe.

In the summer: Beach dates can be fun. If you both like the beach, being on the water, having a picnic, super fun. Im not a beach person, but I can appreciate. I think my favourite summer first date is taking my (and/or their) dogs for a walk is fun followed by a beer at the dog-friendly pub afterwards. Going to an outdoor music event is also fun.

Breakfast or lunch is always a great option no matter the season :)

What activity you do really depends on the individual. If you both are passionate about sports, go for a walk or play a game of tennis, etc. If you both like art, go to a museum or a pottery class. I think doing something 'active' based where you're both doing something you enjoy followed by a sit-down coffee or meal (like a lunch or casual dinner) is nice. Its not too stressful, the post meal/coffee allows you two then to sit down and talk about the activity you just did together, and to get to know each other better. And if it doesn't work out between you two, then at least you had a fun day. You were able to do something you enjoy.

I also would chose an activity that is either 'short' like a couple hours, or a place where someone has the option to leave if they want. Understandably you dont want them to leave, however, I've had friends who have gone hiking on a first date and said they felt very anxious, which made the day more stressful.

Thats my ideal first date. But everyone's different. Some people might get overwhelmed by doing an activity, and may just want to grab a coffee or a meal.
