Want to get back to dating... How exactly do I do that now?

I'm 43 and have been divorced for the last 5 1/2 years, married for 11. How, after almost 16 years, do I get back into the dating scene? Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.

You socialize and mingle. Of course, it helps if you have a social group or activity you can indulge in. Being married doesn't mean dating options have to stop. I am asked out all the time and have been married for over a decade. Life goes on.

My best advice to you is "patience" man. After 40 the power dynamic shifts. Women know guys are not pursuing them anymore. So they have to go on the offense. And now you get play them a little bit. Make them earn you. Most good women are wifed up by this point. So this isn't wrong to do this. It's going to save you in the long run.

I was in the same position a few years ago. The wife's co-worker/friend came to visit me the day after the ex wife moved out. Luckily I never had to go through that. But try dating apps and asking friends or join a kickball league. good luck.

If it were me (and I was allowed to go to bars and clubs) I would go out with a decent size group of friends and mingle. Always easier to mix in groups.

Be friendly and make sure you have your shit together first. Then socialize as much as you're comfortable and don't worry about it. If you can talk to women as friends the hard part is done.
