Perhaps he wants to hear your voice but most likely, it is a lack of trust in you and wants to keep you under tight control.

I am sure he is asking you things like "where are you?", "What are you doing?", "Whom are you with?".

Those would be typical signs of a person that needs to know where you are 24/7 and what you are doing. It is actually a very unhealthy situation and shows that he does not trust you too much.

You should have a serious talk with your boyfriend because if he cannot trust you when you are not married, imagine what it will be when you are.
