Our cat Charley Farley hates other cats. Even worse, he hates dogs except a now departed Jack Russell that used to be a friend's dog.

For many many reasons
Instincts of cats and dogs that don't know each other.
It's probably to be curious. And that curiosity can get you in trouble sometimes
Or if the owner chooses to make them enemies by the things that owner says and does..
Sometimes could be pretty heartbreaking
But when younger and they're brought into the world together or one has to look after the other there becomes quite a bond and that Bond is a beautiful thing because there's protection in all different ways
It's kind of like humans you are who you're brought up to be
If your parents look at other people in the world as bad people are negative then they turn you against these people too
If you grow up with good parents and you have these people in your life you get to make your own choices and become your own person or even friends there is a bond there too
So maybe before parents should have kids there should be some sort of test they have to take to see who they are before they bring a child into this world
And maybe before you can get a cat or a dog you need to take a test see who you are to see if you're capable of raising a cat or a dog without treating or making that pet me and her vicious
In both cases it's either your child or your pet is going to be exactly the way you've raised them
I need cats and dogs it's a little bit different there but still is a good question I liked it thanks10 Reply- u1 mo
I've never had cats and dogs at the same time.

While cats and dogs are often portrayed as enemies, in reality, they can be attracted to each other, especially if properly socialized from a young age, but their natural instincts often lead to antagonistic interactions due to their different body language and communication styles; meaning they might not always understand each other's intentions, which can lead to misunderstandings and conflicts.
Key points to consider:
Individual Differences:
Not all cats and dogs will be attracted to each other, and some may even show aggression towards the other species.
Socialization is Key:
Early and positive introductions are crucial for fostering a friendly relationship between a cat and dog.
Misinterpreting Signals:
Cats and dogs often have different body language cues, which can lead to confusion and potential conflict.
Playful Interactions:
Even if not "attracted" in a romantic sense, cats and dogs can enjoy playful interactions with each other.00 Reply Entirely depends on the individual like people. We had 3 cats and a dog growing up. Out of those 3 cats one hated the dog and avoided entirely, one tolerated but wouldn’t engage, and the third loved the dog shared space and regularly cuddled with the dog. So it’s just based on personality. The dog came in after the cats were already established and we got lucky. Eventually the cats passed and we still had the dog she did well with any cat she met but when I got my puppy because he wasn’t raised around cats he was too rambunctious and had too high a prey drive to safely bring a cat into my adult home.

If they're in the same household they'll see each other as playmates but I wouldn't call it attractions. It's a bit like a brother sister relationship, sure you can play, snuggle up, even muzzle a bit, but if Fido goes too fat he's getting his nose scratched.

Anyway it's different for most mammals -- the females are not continuously in oestrus, so they aren't continuously attracting males. Also they are quite able to distinguish between their species and another.

I sure hope now. No one wants their child coming home with the wrong partner.

I know. LOTS of white folk don't want their buxom blonde daughter Becky bringing home even a handsome Brady such as I.

From nature’s point of view, absolutely not. A dog is a descendant of the wolf, a pack animal which was the enemy of everything catlike in the same area. When young cats and dogs grew up together, they can accept each other, I have seen that happen.
10 Reply 771 opinions shared on Dating topic. I don't know if I'd say attracted. My dog and cat were best buddies. Wherever my dog was, my cat was right there by him. My dog was very upset when we had to put his buddy to sleep 2 weeks ago

Dogs and cats raised together can be buds, but dogs aren't attracted to us blacks because well, we all know Haitians are eating them.

Some do. My now departed German Shepherds loved my cat and vice versa..
10 Reply Sure. They only fight for our attention. You'd be surprised to know what they're up to when we leave the house.

Definitely not. I remember us as kids making out cat and dog kiss. They were clearly not feeling it.😆

No. They’re too different just like men and women. Women are cats and men are dogs they shouldn’t be procreating
