Bond is bond. Both can be equal. I have had both cats and dogs hang on at elderly age purely for their love for my family. One of many examples I could give: I currently have an 18 1/2 year old cat who has not had a lick of food or water herself since May last year. She only eats from my hand. I have to plan everything around her regular feedings. She tells me vocally and through body language everything she needs, and clearly. And nobody can say a part siamese doesn't have a lot to share.
Dogs are VERY social creatures and the bonds are unbreakable. No one loves you like a dog can! I want every person in my life to look at me and act like a dog does cuz I'm selfish like that.
can you even imagine a dog or cat in the wild making it on their own anymore? probably not. it's crazy how many evolved

both my Luna dog, and my Luna cat are very caring and aware... they just had different personalities and ways to show it
dogs show it, but i still prefer a cat despite elite aloof!
According to my cat Allister, cats have a deeper connection to humans, but it tends to be less consistent in that cats pick and choose their person very carefully. Dogs not so much.
