I am talking to this guy, I was feeling confident and told him to clear his weekend evening for me. He told me he would have to see since his older brother who he hasn't seen for 3 years is flying in. But in another message afterwards he talked about maybe a coffee date.

Well I think it’s reasonable family comes first. But I am saying that people will make a effort to see you. There I assume is some free time they have and they will keep you posted. Not leave you hanging

It’s like if you’re genuinely into someone you would prioritize family and such things as that I would assume. But at the end of the day you wouldn’t leave him hanging. You would keep him posted on when you do have time.
