More deets - he is my upstairs neighbor, our assigned parking spots are next to each other, our kids are close in age, I'm three years older than him (we're in our 50s, both divorced), and we've been in a golf buddy situationship for 3+ years (he calls me his golf wife). We're busy with work and family lives, but golf together during the season (on a couples pass because it's cheaper), occasionally grab a nice dinner and wine together, he goes all out on my bday. The only way to know is directly talking to him expressing how you feel and asking how he feels about you.

A lot of people get the wrong message some people either wait too long for someone and they move on OR…. They misread someone and waste their time waiting on someone whose never going to make a move. So as scary as rejection is if it happens you have closure number oen and two you’re not wasting more years waiting on someone whose never going to make that effort.

He's kissed me once (and instantly retreated to his apartment), treats me like an absolute queen on my birthday out on the town, occasionally (awkwardly) initiates touch, has told me he's dismissive avoidant and although he helps his ex and kids and me - allows no one in his apartment. I feel like I need to let him know I've caught feelings because if this goes no further, I feel blocked from dating others because I don't want anyone else. What should I do?
