I was drawn to my ex almost instantly when were first met. I've been writing for years with little to show for it but writing as an art has always been important to me and I see it as a kind of art. I met her on a writing site, and she had a rough draft of a book she started a long time ago but dropped and recently came back to.

She wanted me to do a reading of it before she picked up writing it again. I did, gave her like five small pieces of feedback and then several hours later she sends the next draft. It was mind blowing like watching someone's writing style and way with words triple in eloquence instantly. The flow of the words was incredible, and I immediately knew she was incredibly talented, and I think I fell in love with her then and there.

Actually, it's different for every person. Sometimes it's a physical thing (if I'm being honest it's initially looks every time), but to keep my interest it is different from person to the next.
